Digital Art is going through a Revolution
With the introduction of blockchain some years ago, and subsequently NFT’s in 2017, the provenance of digital art can now be registered, and using blockchain tokens the ownership can be assigned, retained and transferred.
When a person buys a piece of digital art, the originator or artist transfers the token to the buyer, known as a Smart Contract. When the buyer decides to sell the ownership rights, they transfer the token to the new buyer. The Smart Contract can distribute royalties back to the artist every time a transaction takes place.
